Golden Hour is back on Friday, August 21 from 6– Golden Hour is back on Friday, August 21 from 6–8 pm at the Astor House!

Spend your evening in the courtyard with mountain views, live funk and jam from Drone Rodeo, a live mixed-media demonstration from Andrew Barker, and food and drinks from King of Wings.

Your ticket includes a free drink to get the evening started, with additional food and beverages available for purchase.

Join us every first Thursday of the month at Footh Join us every first Thursday of the month at Foothills Art Center’s Astor House for story time, a walk through one of our galleries, and a hands-on art activity inspired by our book of the day. Led by Amanda Pfister, this class encourages creativity, sensory play, and early art exploration in a fun, welcoming environment — the perfect chance for toddlers and their caregivers to explore art and imagination together.

Each piece reflects years of dedication to the medium while pushing beyond technical mastery into personal expression.

Step into Sue Rose’s luminous world of stained g Step into Sue Rose’s luminous world of stained glass mosaics, where every piece is meticulously hand-cut and assembled to create portraits inspired by the beauty of the natural world. Describing her process as “painting with glass,” Sue uses vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and expressive grout lines to bring movement and life to each work.

Portraits in Glass is on view now through October 25 at Foothills Art Center Astor House.

A new exhibition of ceramic works exploring foundation and quality. Once a solid base is established, the artist builds outward expanding both the physical form and conceptual direction of the piece.

This body of work reflects a lifelong pursuit: one that blends discipline with the flexibility to grow and reinterpret ideas over time. Created with adoration, persistence, and dedication, Structure invites you to consider what it means to build something meant to last.

Introductory Artmaking: Basic Materials and Techni Introductory Artmaking: Basic Materials and Techniques of Painting and Drawing

Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or coming back to your art after time away, this class is for you. Join artist John Passaro for a month-long journey through the basics of painting and drawing.

Each week includes individual feedback on your work and goals, visual studies, and a live demonstration from the instructor. No materials? No problem. The instructor will help you get started with the basics.

All skill levels welcome in this warm, supportive weekly group.
