Head to downtown Golden for two days of art, creativity, and community featuring 70+ artists, live demonstrations, hands-on activities, local vendors, and more. All with free admission.

This year, the festival grounds are fully fenced, which means you can grab a Coors beer and stroll the festival while you explore. Even better? Dogs are welcome, so bring your four-legged art lover along for the fun.

Next week, Foothills Art Center will be celebrating creativity with 7 free classes and workshops designed to help you explore new skills, try new mediums, and make art alongside your community.

The week culminates with the Artsweek Festival, a two daycelebration featuring artists, live demonstrations, hands-on activities, performances, and opportunities to experience the arts throughout Golden.

Starting next week, Foothills Art Center is celebrating with 7 free classes and workshops designed to inspire creativity and make art accessible to everyone. Whether you’re looking to try a new medium, learn a new skill, or simply spend time creating, there’s something for every experience level.

Meet the robots. The Articulate Robots of Chris M Meet the robots.

The Articulate Robots of Chris Mora showcases a collection of playful, handcrafted sculptures that blend engineering, artistry, and imagination. Built from steel, stainless steel, and brass, each articulated robot is full of personality, inviting viewers to slow down, look closer, and reconnect with a sense of wonder.

From the towering Goldie greeting visitors outside the Astor House to the intricate details found throughout the exhibition, Chris Mora’s work proves that metal can be both technically impressive and delightfully fun.

On view through July 26 at Foothills Art Center.
Bring a character to life at Paint Your Own Wooden Bring a character to life at Paint Your Own Wooden Character Totem with artist Tom Sarmo on Saturday, June 27 from 10:00 am–1:00 pm at the Creative Campus.

Using a custom wooden character shape, you’ll draw, paint, and design your own colorful totem while learning imaginative character-building techniques, color theory, shading, and painting methods from Tom himself. Whether you’re an experienced artist or simply looking to explore your creativity, this workshop is all about experimentation, play, and having fun with the creative process.
All art materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a finished wooden totem that’s uniquely your own.

$60 Members | $100 Non-Members
+$50 materials fee payable directly to the instructor

See craftsmanship in action at a free Artist Demo See craftsmanship in action at a free Artist Demo with Dave Hawley on Friday, June 5 from 10:00 am–1:30 pm at the Astor House.

Watch as Dave transforms a simple piece of wood into a beautiful finished object, sharing the techniques, tools, and creative decisions behind the art of woodturning. Whether you’re an artist, maker, or simply curious about the process, this is a unique opportunity to experience the skill and precision that goes into every piece.

Build your own robot with artist Chris Mora at the Build your own robot with artist Chris Mora at the Build-Bot DIY Workshop on Thursday, June 18 from 5:00–6:00 pm at the Astor House.

Inspired by his exhibition The Articulate Robots of Chris Mora, this hands-on workshop gives participants the chance to assemble their own articulated robot head using steel, stainless steel, and brass components 

Participants will leave with a one of a kind robot sculpture to take home.

Take a closer look at Aiming to Miss during a guid Take a closer look at Aiming to Miss during a guided gallery tour of Tom Sarmo’s exhibition on Saturday, June 13 from 11:00–11:30 am at the Astor House.

Led by a Gallery Guide, this free 25-minute tour invites visitors to explore the themes, ideas, and imaginative works behind Sarmo’s latest exhibition through observation and conversation. A great opportunity to experience the show from a new perspective.
