Color Confidence for Painters: Mixing Color Withou Color Confidence for Painters: Mixing Color Without Making Mud

Take the mystery out of color mixing. In this hands-on two-day workshop, artist and educator Katy Betz will explore color relationships, warm and cool temperatures, harmonious palettes, value, intensity, and practical strategies for avoiding muddy mixtures.

Whether you work in watercolor, gouache, acrylic, or oil, you’ll leave with a stronger understanding of color theory and tools you can apply to your own painting practice.

On Saturday, September 19 from 11am–12pm, artist and educator John Passaro will lead a free, hands-on session exploring the fundamentals of perspective. Learn how artists have used perspective throughout history, then create your own still life using two-point perspective and shading to bring your drawing to life.

Spanning the last 8–10 years of CarolAnn Wachter’s practice, this exhibition brings together works on paper, large-scale painted collages, and oil paintings in one collection.

Explore the evolution of Wachter’s work across mediums, with pieces that reveal an ongoing exploration of color, composition, texture, and process.

Explore nearly a decade of artistic exploration in Explore nearly a decade of artistic exploration in Vivid Realm, by CarolAnn Wachter, an exhibition bringing together works on paper, large-scale painted collages, and oil paintings created over the past 8–10 years.

Moving across mediums and scale, the exhibition offers a look at the evolution of Wachter’s creative practice and the ideas that have continued to shape her work over time.

See how they mix real eggs with intense pigments to create the luminous colors, crisp details, and lasting surfaces that make egg tempera so unique. Come watch, learn, and see this centuries-old process happening right before your eyes.
