Course Description:
Take home your personal, painted wood totem at the end of this fun, informative, and imaginative workshop!
You’ll receive a thick, wooden “character” shape on which to draw and paint your own colorful Totem!
Techniques Taught
- Imaginative techniques for visualizing character possibilities within shapes.
- Painting techniques using Holbein’s buttery-smooth Acrylic Gouache.
- A method for using colored primer for professional results.
- Easy color theory using triads, accents, and neutrals.
- How to quickly mix and easily use values.
- Simple methods for easy shading using your pre-mixed value strings.
Materials provided by the instructor:
Wooden character shapes, Acrylic Primer, Acrylic Gouache paint, Paint brushes, Palette paper, Palette knives, Water containers, Pencils, Erasers, Sketch paper
