Experience ten inspiring days of art, culture, and cuisine in the heart of Tuscany. Based at Villa Nobile above Cortona, you’ll paint with Janet Nunn, explore charming hill towns, and enjoy local food and wine.
We will paint in the surrounding countryside and towns of Tuscany, including Montepulciano and Pienza, plus plenty of time to relax, wander, or visit Florence or Arezzo.
A perfect blend of creativity and community, all under the Tuscan sun.

- 8 nights bed and breakfast

- Transportation to and from Rome Fiumicino airport to Villa Nobile, Cortona
- Touring the surrounding countryside and towns of Tuscany, including Montepulciano Winery for painting throughout the week

Full Itinerary:
Saturday, September 19
- Pick up Rome FCO Airport. Pick up 1pm.
- Drive to Villa Nobile. Settle in & dinner at 6pm.
- We could stop off at Orvieto for a short visit (2hr) on our way to Villa Nobile.
Sunday, September 20
- Stay at base & paint in the grounds of Villa Nobile.
- Dinner out.
Monday, September 21
- Travel to Monticchiello, small quaint hamlet to paint.
- Finis at 4pm to go to Montepulciano winery to sample the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano & dinner at winery.
Tuesday, September 22
- Travel to San Feliciano (Umbria) with views of a 13C* Ruin & Lake Trasimeno.
Wednesday, September 23
- Choice of staying at Villa or go to Castiglione del Lago – Small town overlooking the lake (Umbria).
- If we stay at Villa , as many groups prefer it , we can go to Castiglione del Lag another day.
Thursday, September 24
- Open Market at Camucia (just below Cortona) great subject to photograph or sketch, or just enjoy the market.
- Then go up to Cortona to paint Cortona town or the views of the Valdichiana.
Friday, September 25
- Free day!
- Suggestions are train journeys to Florence, Or Arezzo, Or Perugia.These are direct train journeys.
- Advice to go as a group & hire a taxi to take you to train station. Maybe €10 per head for taxi & depending on where you go with train, €10 to €25 return.
Saturday, September 26
- This is usually a final day at the Villa to catch up on work & preparation for a final critique. Also time to pack.
Sunday, September 27
- Depart
Please Note:
- Dinners will be a mix of out at local restaurants & at Villa.
- Please advise for any intolerances, allergies etc…
- Lunch not included.
- The pool will be open as & when you wish to use it .
A deposit is required to reserve your spot on the trip. $500 of the deposit is non-refundable at the time of registration.
The remaining portion of the deposit becomes fully non-refundable on March 1, 2026, as we make advance commitments for lodging, transportation, and workshop partners.
Final payment is due July 1, 2026. Once paid, the final balance is non-refundable, as all trip costs are finalized at that time.
If your plans change, you may transfer your spot to another traveler with prior approval from Foothills Art Center. Any financial arrangements between participants are managed directly between you and the substitute traveler. Travel insurance—including medical, emergency, and trip-interruption coverage—is highly recommended to protect your investment and offer peace of mind.
