Location: Foothills Art Center – Creative Campus, 809 15th Street. 

Course Description:

Join a fun day of designing holiday block print cards. Perfect for sending warm wishes to family and friends, or for framing! Each participant can carve their own block print stamp and experiment with some pre-carved motifs as well as alphabet stamps for a custom message. Guidance on how to carve and print soft cut material will be included, as well as tips and tricks for a fun card design using the power of the multiple.

Instructor Info: 

Led by Colorado printmaker, Johanna Mueller, whose work has been featured in many galleries and institutions across the country. Johanna has taught printmaking and art at various institutions including CU Boulder, University of Northern Colorado and Front Range Community College and currently teaches workshops at Wonderhand Studios in Greeley, a communal studio which she co-owns. This class is an excellent opportunity to learn block printing with an accomplished printmaker and have lots of fun in the process!

Materials Fee

$20 material fee paid at the beginning of class directly to the instructor via cash or Venmo. This will include:

– card stock, 10 sheets

– envelopes, 10 each

– 3×3 block – one each

– use of ink

– use of carving tools, brayers, barens, exacto, cutting mat

– use of rubber stamps and other misc materials

Foothills Art Center will provide scissors, pencils, erasers and rulers for your use. You are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
