This 90-minute beginner crochet workshop offers a welcoming, hands-on introduction to crochet through a simple, functional project. Participants will learn how to hold a crochet hook, create a slip knot and chain, and work basic stitches while making the Castle Rock crochet key chain, a momento of the City of Golden. Designed for absolute beginners, this class focuses on building confidence, creativity, and foundational skills. Participants will leave with a finished or nearly finished piece and the knowledge needed to continue crocheting on their own.

Artist Bio:
My name is Elizabeth Pencak, and I am a Golden resident, fiber artist, and crochet instructor with six years of crochet experience. In 2025, I founded PENSACstudio, where I create and sell custom crochet handbags and accessories. My teaching style emphasizes hands-on learning, patience, and creative confidence, helping first-time makers feel supported and capable. Through both my workshops and my business, I aim to elevate the value of handcrafts— especially crochet—as a meaningful and respected art form.
