Each reservation includes the creation of one unique tintype photograph, making it the perfect keepsake or heartfelt gift for this holiday season. Please note that, due to the nature of the photography process, we kindly request no pets or children under the age of 6 at this event. A tintype is a one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted photo made on a metal plate. The process is entirely handmade and these plates are one of one. This unique process dates back to the 1850’s. The plate is sensitized, exposed, and developed in a darkroom. After the plate is developed, it is washed, dried, and varnished, making them extremely archival. We still have tintypes around from the 1800s!
