Course Description:

Have you ever tried to draw a nose—and suddenly it’s too long? Or sketched the eyes and realized they’re way too close together?

Join artist, Sheryl Wasinger for this workshop! She will give you simple, practical tools to build a portrait that looks right from the start.

You’ll learn a clear, step-by-step method for getting facial proportions under control, so your drawing feels achievable (not frustrating). Then, once your portrait is complete, you’ll discover how to shade for realism—bringing subtle facial features, depth, and texture to life.

What you’ll learn

• Proportion tricks that work: easy ways to map a face accurately, with a guided approach you can actually follow
• Portrait-building process: from first sketch to a finished drawing you’re proud of
• Materials & techniques: how to use different drawing supplies and methods to get the look you want
• Shading for subtle facial features: create natural form around the nose, eyes, lips, and jaw
• Shading for hair & clothing: add dimension, realism, and detail with confidence
