SUMMARY:Contemplative Memoir - July 2026
DESCRIPTION:Contemplative Memoir \nInstructor: Peter Dunne \nStart Date: Wednesday\, July 7\, 2026 \nSchedule: Wednesdays\, July 7\, 14\, 21\, 28\, 2026\, 5:30pm- 7:00pm \nCost: Member $45 / Friend & Non-Member $85 \nSkill Level: All Levels \nLocation: Foothills Art Center – Creative Campus\, 809 15th St   \nCourse Description: \nWriting a memoir may be the most challenging and consequential writing we will ever do. We think we know ourselves well enough to write about our lives\, but the effort seems daunting\, and its value dubious. After all\, how do we begin to choose which stories to tell from all the days and years? And who cares? First of all\, no life is ordinary. No life is without miracles and magic\, great loss and great love. And probably no life is more crucial for our children to understand then ours\, because they share more than our genetics\, they share our spiritual DNA. What made us who we are\, helps them see who they can become. In that sense\, we leave them with more than stories. We leave them with meaning and hope.  \n  \nContact: For any questions\, please email Leslie Fitzsimmons at leslie@foothillsartcenter.org. \n***To receive the Member / Open Studio rate – please “login” the upper right- hand corner of this page with the email associated with your membership*** \n  \nPlease Note: Classes and workshops may be cancelled if enrollment minimums are not reached. SUMMARY:The Art of Color Pencils: A Beginner's Exploration
DESCRIPTION:The Art of Color Pencils: A Beginner’s Exploration \nInstructor: Sheryl Wasinger \nStart Date: Saturday\, July 11\, 2026 \nSchedule:  10:00am – 2:00pm \nCost: Member $40/ Friend & Non-Member $55. \nSkill Level: All Levels \nLocation: Foothills Art Center – Creative Campus\, 809 15th Street.  \nCourse Description: \nJoin your community of artists and creators this summer for a fun new workshop with professional artist and educator\, Sheryl Wasinger. Explore the world of color pencil artistry in this immersive workshop. Begin with the foundational techniques such as blending and layering\, gradually advancing fun and intriguing methods. Unleash your creativity as you learn how to skillfully apply colors to create representations of realistic objects. \n  \nThis workshop will guide you through essential color pencil techniques. Starting with basic color blending\, we advance to complex blending and understanding of value to create the illusion of depth and dimensionality. As you gain confidence and experience\, you will work on portraying realistic objects\, identifying the necessary colors to achieve authenticity and vibrancy of real objects. \n  \nSheryl Wasinger has had a lifelong passion for art\, beginning in childhood with simple joys like a new box of Crayola crayons. After dedicating over 30 years to teaching art\, she shifted to full-time painting in early 2019\, working primarily with acrylics on canvas. Her distinctive style combines a vibrant color palette with representational and abstract designs\, often inspired by the natural beauty of Colorado\, along with influences from New Mexico and Wyoming. Through her work\, Sheryl aims to capture the essence of the natural world. Recently\, she has expressed a desire to return to teaching part-time\, eager to share her knowledge and ignite a passion for creativity in adult learners. \n  \n$1 material fee paid directly to the instructor at start of class. \n  \nContact: For any questions\, please email info@foothillsartcenter.org. \n  \n***To receive the Member / Open Studio rate – please “login” the upper right- hand corner of this page with the email associated with your membership*** \n  \nPlease Note: Classes and workshops may be cancelled if enrollment minimums are not reached.
