DESCRIPTION:Tickets Are on Sale Now for $20 per Evening or $33 for both Golden Programs  \nLeadville Pricing is $20  \nStories Worth Telling Festival is proud to announce their growth after its first initial festival last year. New this year is a Live Storytelling program on Wednesday\, September 27\, programmed and hosted by Nick P Ross\, storyteller and host of the Moth Storyslam in Denver\, CO.  \nContinuing this year is a short film festival program on Thursday\, September 28; which will also play on October 14 in Leadville. The films will be centered around the four main festival values of Compassion\, Innovation\, Adventure and Community. The program is rooted in outdoor adventure but the program will feature films beyond traditional outdoor film programming. With the program team hard at work reviewing films\, a final film line-up will be announced in September.  \nLive music\, which will kick-off all three programs prior to the storytelling/film programs – will be programmed by Mark Morris of Rapidgrass with acts to be announced later this summer.  \nBuffalo Rose\, Golden\, CO \nSeptember 27th | 5:30 PM \nSeptember 28th | 5:30 PM \nTabor Opera House\, Leadville\, CO \nOctober 14th | 5:00 PM \nFestival schedule:  \nWednesday\, September 27 – Live Storytelling at the Buffalo Rose in Golden\, CO.  \nDoors Open at 5:30 p.m. followed by live music  \nStorytelling Program begins at 7 p.m.  \nThe theme of this program is Into The Unknown and will be hosted by Nick P Ross. This program will feature Live Storytelling\, as well as a selection of short films. The line-up of storytellers includes PT Smith\, Isaiah Thomas\, Susan Henshaw\, Eric McNeil\, Beth Bradley\, Austin Butterfield and Luis Antonio Perez. This program features some of the best storytellers in Colorado.  \n  \nThursday\, September 28 – Film festival evening featuring short outdoor films at the Buffalo Rose in Golden\, CO  \nDoors Open at 5:30 p.m. followed by live music  \nFilm Program begins at 7 p.m.  \nThis program will feature short films\, with a strong selection of films based in outdoor adventure. A final list of films will be released in September. Guests should expect to see award-winning and impactful films\, featuring some of Colorado’s best filmmakers.

DESCRIPTION:Morning StArt is a joint one-hour meetup program (sponsored by Foothills Art Center and the Golden Public Art Commission) designed to bring artists in the area together with the Golden community to meet and talk about art. Join us for a fun happy hour with Rob Bell at Golden City Brewery. \nAbout Rob:\nBorn in Japan and raised in Colorado\, Rob grew up sketching and painting people in native landscapes. His parents’ eastern influence fueled his passion for art and culture\, a foundation he continues to draw upon daily. Rob attended Colorado State University for a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and then the School of the Museum of Fine Arts\, Boston for graduate studies in studio arts. Upon returning to Denver in 2007 he promptly began expressing himself through abstract painting. Around 2014 he started exhibiting his most current abstract figure work using all of his past experience in drawing\, painting\, multi-media\, and design to create the imagery you see today.

We will also take day trips to the Island of Capri and Pompeii. Come and grab a cup of coffee with macrame artist Lena Margulis on Friday\, November 3rd at 8 am. \nAbout Lena:\nLena Margulis has been a macrame artist for over four years\, but her artistic journey didn’t begin then. Lena has a diverse background\, which includes studies in fine arts\, fashion design\, and graphic design. In a way\, Lena combined her past experiences and skills to create something new and unexpected with macrame. \nLena takes pleasure in combining shapes and elements to create unique macrame pieces\, finding meditative solace in teaching others. The resurgence of macrame in today’s fast-paced world has driven Lena to craft custom designs\, seamlessly bridging clients’ visions with their creative expertise. Their background in knitting and fiber arts provides an intuitive understanding of materials\, while their DIY skills\, tool proficiency\, and graphic design know-how have facilitated their transition from hobbyist to dedicated macrame artist.

The process is entirely handmade and these plates are one of one. This unique process dates back to the 1850’s.  The plate is sensitized\, exposed\, and developed in a darkroom. After the plate is developed\, it is washed\, dried\, and varnished\, making them extremely archival. We still have tintypes around from the 1800s!

Come grab a cup of coffee with artist\, Rachael on Friday\, January 19th at 8 am. \nRachael LaMielle\, aka “Honey Olive Designs” is a multidisciplinary artist located in Golden\, CO. As a self-taught stippling and impressionistic painter\, she combines her love of the beautiful outdoors with vivid colors and distinctive\, meticulous mark-making. Known lovingly by many in the Foothills Art Center Open Studio group as “dot”\, she spends the majority of her creative time working on compositions made with acrylic paint\, gessobord and SO.MANY. DOTS. placed individually with special dotting tools. To keep her sanity\, she also experiments with “freestyle patchwork” acrylic paintings on canvas\, and watercolor paintings made with a distinctive and gestural application of masking fluid to emphasize the texture and movement of the organic landscape. Come learn about her inspirations\, tools and techniques at the January Morning StART program!

DESCRIPTION:When is snows\,  it covers the ground with a blanket of white.  In this class\, you will learn to paint this blanket of white.  We will use some interesting tools to help us paint.  These tools might be wax paper\, plastic wrap\, a basting brush\, or even a mask—all great techniques to learn in watercolors.  We will be using liquid watercolors\, making the process so efficient. DESCRIPTION:Looking for a fun night out with your friend\, partner\, or date to press your hands into a lump of cool\, wet\, clay? Then laugh while you take turns transforming that lump into a vessel using the Potter’s Wheel. This one-night workshop allows couples new to the ceramics studio to play with clay while learning basic wheel-throwing techniques. Students will learn about wedging clay\, using a Potter’s Wheel\, centering clay\, and opening the clay to create a vessel. No previous ceramics experience is necessary—this workshop is open to all levels\, ages 21+. All materials and tools will be provided.
