This Golden-resourced\, “locals-only\,” community-oriented event is designed to bring Golden residents together and features fun for all ages including live music\, family-oriented activities\, and great food and beer by “Beer Sponsor” New Terrain Brewing. \nThis year’s performers include Earl Nelson & The Company (Rocky Mountain Hill Country Blues)\, The Wrecklunds (Americana)\, and Kayla Ruby (Contemporary Country) – three rockin’ bands with Golden connections! Guests can also explore the Museum’s scenic\, 15-acre railyard that is home to more than 100 locomotives\, catch a ride on a vintage passenger train\, delight in the charm of the miniature garden railway and enjoy a variety of fun activities provided by local\, non-profit partners and businesses. Food will be sold by local food vendors including Bob’s Atomic Burgers\, Truck Eddy\, Pambasos and Happy Cones. They will learn about the life of the artist and how this affected the way their artwork looks. Playful abstract watercolor painting will be a fun way to explore the landscapes Grant Wood. Elizabeth Murray’s happy abstract imagery will guide our experience in oil pastel drawing. Collage experiences will abound with learning about the cubist still lifes of Pablo Picasso. Frolicking Pop Art figurines will guide us through a day as Marisol Escobar by creating our own unique people out of assembled objects. Lastly\, the graphic photo realism portraits of Chuck Close will be used as inspiration for creating fun geometric drawings.
