SUMMARY:Contemplative Memoir - September 2026
DESCRIPTION:Contemplative Memoir \nInstructor: Peter Dunne \nStart Date: Wednesday\, September 9\, 2026 \nSchedule: Wednesdays\, September 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\, 2026\, 5:30pm- 7:00pm \nCost: Member $45 / Friend & Non-Member $85 \nSkill Level: All Levels \nLocation: Foothills Art Center – Creative Campus\, 809 15th St   \nCourse Description: \nWriting a memoir may be the most challenging and consequential writing we will ever do. We think we know ourselves well enough to write about our lives\, but the effort seems daunting\, and its value dubious. After all\, how do we begin to choose which stories to tell from all the days and years? And who cares? First of all\, no life is ordinary. No life is without miracles and magic\, great loss and great love. And probably no life is more crucial for our children to understand then ours\, because they share more than our genetics\, they share our spiritual DNA. What made us who we are\, helps them see who they can become. In that sense\, we leave them with more than stories. We leave them with meaning and hope.  \n \nContact: For any questions\, please email Leslie Fitzsimmons at leslie@foothillsartcenter.org. \n***To receive the Member / Open Studio rate – please “login” the upper right- hand corner of this page with the email associated with your membership*** \n \nPlease Note: Classes and workshops may be cancelled if enrollment minimums are not reached. SUMMARY:Artist Demo - Lynn Allbright & Janine Sturdavant
DESCRIPTION:Artist Demonstration with Lynn Allbright & Janine Sturdavant\nFriday\, September 4\, 2026\, 1:30pm – 5:00pm\nCost: FREE\nLocation: Foothills Art Center – Astor House\, 1133 Arapahoe St\nDescription:\nLynn and Janine team up for a live egg tempera artist demo—two artists\, two different mediums\, one shared obsession: luminous pigment and freshly mixed egg tempera. \nWatch as they mix intense pigments and real eggs right before your eyes\, creating bright\, lasting color in real time. Egg tempera is an ancient technique—used for murals\, icons\, and even cave wall paintings—long before oil paints\, dating back at least 4\,800 years. \nWhy return to it today? Because egg tempera delivers fine detail and a depth of color that can be hard to match with other mediums. Join us to see how this time-tested method brings crisp lines\, rich tones\, and enduring results to the surface. \nCome watch\, learn\, and be amazed by the glow of egg tempera—freshly mixed\, right in front of you! \nContact: For any questions\, please email Nathaniel at nathaniel@foothillsartcenter.org.
