In this workshop\, participants will use fresh leaves and flowers to create one of a kind botanical pressed plates. \nNo experience is necessary\, just bring your creativity! Tools will be provided\, as well as clay and glazes for a small fee that will be paid directly to the instructor. Participants are requested to bring flowers\, leaves and and other plant cuttings. A limited selection of botanicals will be provided if participants are unable to collect their own. \nStudents will complete at least one plate\, which will be fired and ready for pickup two weeks after the workshop.

SUMMARY:The Art of Collage: Combining Text and Imagery
DESCRIPTION:You’ve heard the saying a “A picture is worth 1000 words”. We are flipping it around and creating a “picture” with1000 words. This workshop will combine visual imagery with written words to create a unique artistic expression. We will be using a variety of resources including books\, magazines\, personal handwriting and hand painted pages\, alongside images or other visual elements to arrange pieces made primarily focusing on the written word. We will continue to use various techniques of layering different types of paper material. Everything is provided; all you need is your creative vision. \n  \nCollage artist\, Erika Vassallo\, will lead participants through choice of materials \,composition\, use of different adhesives and application techniques.
