Based at Villa Nobile above Cortona\, you’ll paint with Janet Nunn\, explore charming hill towns\, and enjoy local food and wine. \n \nWe will paint in the surrounding countryside and towns of Tuscany\, including Montepulciano and Pienza\, plus plenty of time to relax\, wander\, or visit Florence or Arezzo. \n \nA perfect blend of creativity and community\, all under the Tuscan sun. \n \nIncluded: \n\n8 nights bed and breakfast\n7 dinners with wine\nTransportation to and from Rome Fiumicino airport to Villa Nobile\, Cortona\nTouring the surrounding countryside and towns of Tuscany\, including Montepulciano Winery for painting throughout the week\nOne free day\n\n \nTake a look at Tuscany in The Frame website for more details: https://tuscanyintheframe.com/ \n \nFull Itinerary: \nSaturday\, September 19 \n\nPick up Rome FCO Airport. Pick up 1pm.\nDrive to Villa Nobile. Settle in & dinner at 6pm.\nWe could stop off at Orvieto for a short visit (2hr) on our way to Villa Nobile.\n\nSunday\, September 20 \n\nStay at base & paint in the grounds of Villa Nobile.\nDinner out.\n\nMonday\, September 21 \n\nTravel to Monticchiello\, small quaint hamlet to paint.\nFinis at 4pm to go to Montepulciano winery to sample the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano & dinner at winery.\n\nTuesday\, September 22 \n\nTravel to San Feliciano (Umbria) with views of a 13C* Ruin & Lake Trasimeno. \n\nWednesday\, September 23 \n\nChoice of staying at Villa or go to Castiglione del Lago – Small town overlooking the lake (Umbria).\nIf we stay at Villa \, as many groups prefer it \, we can go to Castiglione del Lag another day.\n\nThursday\, September 24 \n\nOpen Market at Camucia (just below Cortona) great subject to photograph or sketch\, or just enjoy the market.\nThen go up to Cortona to paint Cortona town or the views of the Valdichiana.\n\nFriday\, September 25 \n\nFree day!\nSuggestions are train journeys to Florence\, Or Arezzo\, Or Perugia.These are direct train journeys. \nAdvice to go as a group & hire a taxi to take you to train station. Maybe €10 per head for taxi & depending on where you go with train\, €10 to €25 return.\n\nSaturday\, September 26 \n\nThis is usually a final day at the Villa to catch up on work & preparation for a final critique. Also time to pack.\n\nSunday\, September 27 \n\nDepart\n\n \nPlease Note: \n\nDinners will be a mix of out at local restaurants & at Villa.\nPlease advise for any intolerances\, allergies etc…\nLunch not included.\nThe pool will be open as & when you wish to use it .\n\n \nA deposit is required to reserve your spot on the trip. $500 of the deposit is non-refundable at the time of registration. \n \nThe remaining portion of the deposit becomes fully non-refundable on March 1\, 2026\, as we make advance commitments for lodging\, transportation\, and workshop partners. \nFinal payment is due July 1\, 2026. Once paid\, the final balance is non-refundable\, as all trip costs are finalized at that time. \n \nIf your plans change\, you may transfer your spot to another traveler with prior approval from Foothills Art Center. Any financial arrangements between participants are managed directly between you and the substitute traveler.
