Students will be provided with a wet thrown pot\, and instructor Peri Charlifu will guide the class on how to transform it into a monstrous ghoulie. We’ll talk about form and function\, proportion\, symmetry\, asymmetry and construction. Students will make their ghouls the evening of October 11th and will decorate them the evening of October 25th\, just in time for Halloween!  \n \nAvailable to all skill levels. DESCRIPTION:Botanical Pressed Plates – Ceramics Summer Workshop \nSunday: June 29th\, 2025\n5:30pm-8:30pm\nClass: $60 members\, $85 Friends and nonmembers \nJoin us for a hands-on summer workshop at the height of the season’s blooms! In this workshop\, participants will use fresh leaves and flowers to create one of a kind botanical pressed plates. \nNo experience is necessary\, just bring your creativity! Tools will be provided\, as well as clay and glazes for a small fee that will be paid directly to the instructor. Participants are requested to bring flowers\, leaves and and other plant cuttings. A limited selection of botanicals will be provided if participants are unable to collect their own. \nStudents will complete at least one plate\, which will be fired and ready for pickup two weeks after the workshop.

DESCRIPTION:Let’s Get Glazey! \nMarch Session \nSundays:\nMarch 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\n1pm-3:30pm\nClasses: $185 members\, $210 Friends/nonmembers \nAre you interested in learning how to make your own pottery glazes and explore new ways of firing and finishing your work? Join us for an exclusive class taught by ceramic artist Judy Madison! Students will get to visit Judy’s personal studio and have their own work fired in her gas kiln\, while learning about atmospheric firings and reaching new depths in the ceramics field. \nThis class will explore reduction firing and glazing. Reduction firing is a ceramic firing technique that uses an oxygen-deprived atmosphere to create unique colors and textures in clay. Students must be 18 years or older. Students will create their own pottery and forms and learn about glaze mixing and application for reduction. They will also learn about the safe operation of gas kilns. Enrolled students are welcome to bring in previously bisqued work made in a high-fire clay to class for glazing and firing. \nThis class includes glaze materials and the reduction firing\, which will take place at Judy Madison’s studio on the last day of class. Bags of clay can be purchased for $25 each during class. A personal pack of beginner clay tools can be purchased for $20 during class\, as studio tools are provided on a first come\, first served basis. \nThe Let’s Get Glazey Open Studio takes place Saturdays from 9am-5pm for each week that classes are active.
