SUMMARY:Artist Demo - Nikki Nienhuis
DESCRIPTION:Artist Demonstration with Nikki Nienhuis\nFriday\, April 3\, 2026\, 10:00am – 1:30pm\nCost: FREE\nLocation: Foothills Art Center – Astor House\, 1133 Arapahoe St\nDescription:\nNikki will be creating her “messy middles” on a few new pieces- this is the playful part of her process where the layers come and go and the mark making is fun and expressive. SUMMARY:Artist Talk with Sarah Tenney & Jenna Annunziato
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an Artist Talk with Sarah Tenney and Jenna Annunziatio – in conversation about their joint exhibition\, Fragile Things. On view from September 6 – November 9. \nPainting in untraditional cut-outs\, Sarah Tenney and Jenna Annunziato explore relationships with others as well as to the things with which we surround ourselves. The pairing reflects the duality between the two artists: one orbiting nostalgia in the forgotten\, and false divinity; the other exploring connection\, conflict\, and intervention. \nBesides the shininess\, the commonalities among Annunziato’s objects lie in their value\, or lack thereof. Beautiful and broken objet d’art are portals to memories and counterfeit faith. Tenney steps into allegory using magical realism in her gentle depictions. Animals and people interact in moments fraught with disconnection and the tenuous understanding of others. Altogether this exhibition depicts tangible and intangible fragile things that fill the human experience. \nJenna Annunziato earned a BFA from SUNY and comes to Foothills Art Center having shown in exhibits across the country and with several residencies under her belt. Sarah Tenney earned her BFA from MSU Denver and has worked as a professional artist for almost 2 decades. Her collectors can be found across the Americas\, Europe\, and Australia. \nFree to attend! All welcome. \nSaturday 8 November\, 2-3pm \n1133 Arapahoe St\, Golden CO

SUMMARY:Artist Talk with Moe Scance
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an artist talk by Moe Scance\, a local visual artist whose new exhibit “Based on a True Story\,” showcases twenty new works-on-paper. Her drawings\, rich in detail and whimsy\, reveal a world of magical landscapes and intimate settings meant to capture the imagination or stir a memory. Bittersweet and nostalgic\, dreamlike and epic – each piece invites the viewer to discover a story. \n     \nBorn and raised in Washington\, D.C.\, she attended Temple University’s Tyler School of Art\, receiving a BFA degree. From there she followed a career path based on graphic design\, then newspaper design\, leading eventually to her long-term award-winning career at The Denver Post. \n \nShe began her studio career in 2008\, using hand-me-down tools from her professional life: drawing table\, t-square\, exacto knife and newsprint\, light table\, tracing paper\, flat file. Her artistic mediums include graphite\, block-printing ink\, Caran d’Ache wax crayons and oil pastels. With years of dedicated practice\, Moe makes paper tell a story that feels true. \n  \nHer work has been featured in juried exhibitions at D’Art Gallery\, Core Art Space\, Lone Tree Arts Center\, Curtis Center for the Arts and Museum of Art of Fort Collins. Her present show at Foothills Art Center’s Astor House Gallery is her first solo exhibition. \n \nDon’t miss this opportunity to hear Scance reflect on her journey\, her influences\, and the stories behind her artworks. \n \nFree to attend!
