SUMMARY:Contemporary Still Life - Oil Painting
DESCRIPTION:This class aims to give students an understanding of the practice and history of still-life painting with oil. Drawing on impressionist techniques to modern-day painters\, students will create their own contemporary twist on an age-old subject. The first class will demonstrate how to set up an underpainting by addressing the fundamentals of composition and proportion. The second class aims to introduce students to the basics of color theory\, including hue vs. value\, and how to set up a palette. This class is ideal for students new to oil painting or those who have a basic understanding and wish to delve deeper into painting from life. \nThis workshop takes place on Thursdays:\nMarch 16 & 23\, 2023\, from 3-6 pm in person at Foothills Art Center. \nMembers $90/Non-members $120

DESCRIPTION:This class will be painting different flowers.  We will be using\, liquid watercolors\, wax paper\, plastic Wrap\, a basting Brush\, and more techniques to make these flowers come alive.  When painting flowers\, we will be using note cards as our surface.  We will be able to paint a few more paintings on these cards. Perfect for a springtime class.  There is a $5 material fee for all you need for class.
